Common questions

In general your ears should look after themselves, there is a natural process of self-cleaning that healthy ears are constantly doing. However due to a number of reasons when an earwax blockage occurs it is recommended that it is removed using one of the approved methods. Here are some of the common reasons that ears block up with wax,
Dry skin due to eczema or psoriasis will build up in the canal being stuck together with the earwax, almost as a glue.
Working in a dusty environment, the excessive amount of dust will stick to the earwax in the ear and build up over time.

A significant amount of people will suffer from a one sided blockage, this has been related to the side that an individual sleeps on.

Cotton bud user, cleaning your own ears generally causes more problems. There is a risk of scratching the ear canal leading to possible infection. The action of using cotton buds to remove ear wax from the ear acts almost as a ramrod pushing wax further down the canal to create more of an issue.

Best bit of advice I can give is don’t put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear! It’s an old one but still rings true.

Feedback & reviews

★★★★★

“Brilliant service. Alistair is fantastic at what he does (I had ear suction). He has likely saved me a lot of money as I had previously spoken to 3 national companies that just want to flog me with expensive hearing aids. Highly recommend his services”

Also excellent for other aids for disability.”

“Very pleased with the service and although it’s worrying that microsuction is no longer available on the NHS (unless referred), it’s a relief to know that you can be seen quickly here. Nothing worse than the pressure that builds up if left untreated. Excellent service felt very relaxed.”

“First time customer for earwax removal after being told I’d wait several weeks to get it done at my local doctor’s surgery. Easily booked over the phone, with an appointment set to suit me within days.

Excellent service, both in terms of quickly removing my revolting earwax and in terms of customer care – I was both sucked and washed out on both sides, with both processes being fully explained. Zero pain and discomfort, so good it was almost pleasurable.

Brilliant, crystal-clear hearing now, actually better results than many years of previous visits to various doctor’s practices. All done highly professionally, good value for me.

I feel pathetically grateful and will definitely book again when next afflicted. Highly recommended.”
